I have some KM-4050s that leave a blank line across the page that is about 1 inch wide that randomly appears when the customer prints. I have just updated the machine to the lattest firmware. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I realize that this is intermittent, but it would help to know if the void appears on an internal report like a Status Page. It would also help to narrow the problem down to a specific application, if possible. You specify prints, but does it also affect copies & faxes?
Its possible that there is a conflict between a specific application and a specific function in the print driver. The only way to pin this down is to ask a lot of questions, and experiment with the most likely applications. If it's just a specific application, like Adobe or Word, I would look at the specific version of the program and update if possible. Or you can try an older or newer version of the print driver.
If it is just affecting prints and possibly reports, I would also suspect the print Main or MMI firmware, or the print card which is built into the main PWB.
Before I went replacing any parts though, I would ask a lot of questions. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This problem only occurs when they print.
I believe this is a problem with the computer application that the customer is using, but i can't prove it. I have only seen the examples that the customer leaves me and have not been able to duplicate the problem myself. Its that intermitten. Only one other copier is diong the same thing out of maybe twenty at this account. And i believe they are both using the same application.
I was hoping that someone else had seen this same problem so that i could tell thier IT people that the problem is not with the copier. I have to bend over backwards to prove to IT that its not the copier, otherwise they will not give me any help until i do.Comment

Don't expect IT to volunteer to take the responsibility for this one. They would be very happy to push it over onto our side of the fence. You will need to figure out exactly which application of which version, and which driver of which version. Enjoy! =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
