    [Jamming] Kyo 3550ci Feed Rollers

Hey all, I've been asked to replace both trays feed rollers by another dealer, I said yes sure although not familiar with the machine. Another tech said today that these machines aren't the best to work on, so I thought I'd ask the question of how straightforward is it to replace the feed rollers to a tech who hasn't worked on this model before??

Just remove the tray and reach in through the tray opening. Plastic clips hold the rollers. No major disassembly.

For better mileage you can press Konica Minolta rollers onto the hubs. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If it has the original feed heads, you have to remove the feed head. The rollers are seated into a holder unit that has to be removed from the shaft first. The sep roller is inside that grey plastic holder.

This is on the 30-35 ppm machines. The faster machines have the newer style feed head. If you order a feed head for the slower machines you get the newer feed head.

Not too difficult to remove the feed assembly on both trays.

Open the main door On the right hand side of the machine. The lower door underneath lifts off when you detach the plastic catch.
There are two covers to remove either side of the lower door (remove 3 screws on each and they just lift off).
With these removed you can now see the feed assemblies for tray 1 and 2. Take out the 2 screws for each(one either side) and disconnect the connector for it. The whole feed assembly lifts out and you can replace rollers.
Easier to take the assembly out altogether for replacement of the Seperation Roller.

And yes swap for Konica Minolta rollers for better mileage.
