    Kyocera FS4100 jamming all trays

trays 1 and 2, and manual feed are all stopping just before the registration rollers. Initially found the the black mylar guide under the dv unit hanging and blocking the paper path, but resealed it and still jamming. Took off the right cover and watched the drive and gear to the bypass is not turning. Confirmed both drive motors spinning. Does anyone know if the Clutch pack provides drive to all three input trays? Or anything else I should be looking at? thanks

Shove the cardboard from a legal pad through the bypass to unflip mylars and force out paper scraps from the reg section

      Jam codes?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Blackcat: i was trying to get at least one printed output but couldn't. Is there a reading from the panel?

          Two ways:

Set up print driver to print, via IC Link send this PreScribe script: !R! FRPO I1,1; EXIT; The menu choice now appears in the service menu. Go to Other, right arrow, down arrow to Error Log, OK, OK.

          Send the following PreScribe command: !R! KCFG"ELOG";EXIT;

Great idea blackcat, but if he can't get anything through the printer, it won't print an elog either.

Buzz, the printer should show a jam code on the operation panel along with the print count. If the clutches that you are referring to are side by side, they drive the developing unit and the registration roller. The one towards the front of the machine (left side as you are looking at them) drives the registration roller and yes, would be used for ALL feed sources and cause jamming at the registration roller if not functioning.

Can you get error codes through web-panel with use of patch cord?

The registration sensor on these sometimes pops out of the of its holder and have seen broken ones too. remove the duplex unit and engine pwb and check the sensor for proper operation.
What are the error code. If the paper stops, then you should see a error code on the display for sure. Is the paper lead edge damaged with nicks, cuts ect. I have replaced the dev clutch on those for intermittent dev turn and thus causing the print to fade within a few pages. Also mark the shaft ends of the clutches, so you can see them turn on and off while the machine is transporting the paper.

                  (3) Conveying section
The conveying section conveys paper to the transfer/separation section as paper feeding from the cassette or
MP tray, or as paper refeeding for duplex printing. Paper by feeding is conveyed by the paper feed roller to the
position where the registration sensor (RS) is turned on, and then sent to the transfer/separation section by
the upper registration roller and lower registration roller

*****UPDATE**** Thank you for all the feedback. It ended up being the Feed Clutch Pack Part Number: 302LV94253 (Houses both MPT and Tray 1 Feed Drive Clutches).

                      Hi buzz,

if the printer is older than one year, then you can change the two clutches in the parts drive feed assy (the one you have changed), which are the same. They are also the same with the developer clutch, Parts Clutch 20-2W Z35R (302LV94160-3).
I'd like to mention that, in my opinion, you should check the developer clutch if there is rust in it. Then you have to replace too, because the printer will print blank pages.

                      Have a nice day
