    New boxes

Hi All....Are we having fun yet?

Has anybody encountered any "issues" with our much anticipated wonderful new color boxes ? Any thoughts good or bad?

    Thanks much.

Came across a strange one last week on he Ta4052ci. Set up pin protected user boxes, if you send a job with the incorrect pin the machine flashes a warning as you would expect, but after about 10sec the warning goes away and the machine just prints the job out!!. Tested it on another in our workshop and it does the same. Firmware bug I suspect.

i'll email Kyocera UK next week after I've done some more testing.

Following the "emergency" touch screen initialization procedure as outlined in MM 201 will result in a locked up Op panel and blank screen . Turning off the main switch will bring the copier back to life....However I don't know if 201 initialization/realignment actually worked because I was just testing this procedure with a good display.

        Cheers

P.S I did reload the firmware and tried this on several models with the same results.

Getting lots of calls for "squeeking" on these boxes, plus have had a couple of dev units fail.

so far we have had lots with fsr squeaks and a couple of machines with squeaks from the exit units.

I've got a call for squeaking as well and will be looking at it tomorrow. It will be the first machine of this series I've seen.

My squeaking problem ended up being the lower rollers in the exit.

We have also had to change a couple of Magents dev units for noise now....

Just had our 1st (and I doubt the last) full waste toner inserted into the machine as a new black toner.............and it goes in easily!!!!

I had heard that when they were used for waste toner boxes that they would no longer fit as toner cartridges. Guess that was wrong info or it doesn't work.

Thats what we heard as well.
Went to a Ta6052ci with poor quality, checked the black toner and noticed it was was in fact that tell tail brown colour, customer said they ran out of toner so just 'swapped' it with the full one already in the machine!!

Will do do some testing with a new one in the workshop tomorrow.

A bit disappointed with these boxes so far .

Strange...What I understood at training is that once you install the K as a waste toner it's not possible to reverse the process. But then, I wonder if you can install a full original waste container into the K and the box will recognize it...apparently you can...
