    km 3035 black copies

Customer had some paper jam problems in the vertical transport area that led to breaking off the guide on the transfer roller. Could that be the cause of completely black copies . Does the guide act as a ground?

The charge corona is shorted out, if you're very lucky the charger my be salvaged by a good cleaning, but most likely it will have to be replaced. Also , a shorted charger will punch pin holes in the drum .

    Good luck

The more common problem with the transfer assembly is having one of the bushings break, usually the rear. On one of those times that the door is opened the transfer roller falls out.

This is the crucial moment. Does your customer:
      1) call for service? Wonderful! Good choice.
      2) put the roller back in it's place without the contact spring? Blank copies and jams. Manageable.
      3) slam the door as hard as possible, multiple times? You'll have $300 or $400 worth of additional damage. Idiot.

The only reason you might have black copies as a result of a damaged transfer assembly is if the transfer is shorted to frame ground. I would remove the transfer assembly completely from the machine and do an emergency stop to see if you have a clean latent developed image ... or black. If the latent image is OK you can get away with just replacing the transfer assembly. If it's still black you'll have to look into it further. Where are you losing your primary charge? Maybe your customer tried to fix it for you... and made it a lot worse. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had tried cleaning charge carona .no difference. I did try pulling the transfer roller and ran it . the copies came out blank with no latent image on the drum. Copies are solid gray with no pitting or streaks like I've with other carona problems. This particular customer does attempt working on this machine on a regular basis.

Thanks Geo , It was indeed the charge carona shorting out . Although the carona had been cleaned and looked in good shape it was somehow shorting out . When the customer had the jamming problems it might have been the result of solid black copies.

Black copies due to charge corona was very common on these.
and your logic sounds right that the black copies would be jamming.
