    3550ci Fuser Pressure Grinding noise

There is a loud grinding noise for a fraction of a second coming from the fuser area during a copy cycle.

There are no error codes, and the copies/prints are fine. Super annoying to the customer of course of it being so loud.

I did a motor output test and it seems like the noise is from the Pressure Motor.

Anyone had this before? I have a 5550ci fuser and may try to swap parts.

    Any feedback would be great.

    thanks

I have heard the fuser pressure motor make that noise, before it fails. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

only loud grinding noises so far out of this model is side door press release motors,a few teeth broken off once a small gear on the 8300 1930 3005ci series fuser but not causing loud noise.let me know how you get on.

...that's why you KEEP your fusers that have reached yield and replaced!...swap out the motor/gear set from a known good unit and carry on!
