    M2535dn

The feeder when copying or scanning jams intermittently. The symptom is push print button and paper feeds into the feeder to scan...once the paper lead edge curls down toward the glass it stops. No damage to original paper lead edge ect.....The lead edge of the jam cannot be seen because it is not visible from under feeder where the paper comes out or from the top. 2/3's of (stopped) paper or more are still visible from the top with the top cover to feeder open. It is removed from up top backwards direction removal.

I have been here for this and then it starts going again and willl not happen or another month or longer sometimes. The feeder is not a service friendly design. I can't see anything and even when paper is manually pushed through it seems ok.

Has anyone had this issue or had to disassemble the doc feeder on this machine??

    Thanks for any ideas.

I don't see any bulletins posted for the document feeder. Have you checked the hinges to see if they are cracked or broken?

      Hello
I disassembled this power supply, and it really hurt.
Try to take it apart, there are 3 screws but first you have to remove the 2 covers both the right that the left.
You find the lever that carries the paper passage sensor that is lazy.

Replace the registration sensor with the cover open sensor.

Replace the wiring harness that connects the doc feeder to the main unit, when replacing do not re-install the wiring harness hold down [nylon clamp]. We have hundreds of this and previous models in the field and found that if the customer is raising and lowering the doc feeder this clamp restricts the harness from moving and causes either a wire to break or to pull out of the connector pin causing the problem you describe and other doc feeder problems. We instituted a setup policy/service call policy, quite a while ago, to remove the rear doc feeder cover and remove the nylon clamp and snip the ty-rap on the wires to allow more freedom. Since we have instituted this policy we have nearly eliminated this type of service call. We found this solution completely by accident after having replaced a unit under our warranty policy after only a few months of use and could not fix it in the customer's office. We had the unit in the shop trying to diagnose the problem and it worked fine, by accident we move the wiring harness and it stopped working, moved the wiring harness and it started working. You could have a bad clutch, but my bet is that replacing the wiring harness will resolve your problem. Hope this helps.

Sayens has my vote. We've had a couple do this. I think they call it the timing sensor in the manual.
            Hope that helps !
