MAC OS vs Kyocera TA2551ci scanning

Hello I would like to scan to shared folder on MAC-OS PC
I created shared folder on MAC OS PC as well as read/write-privilegies for user but I am not still able to make working preset in adressbook (SMB-scanning)
The other adressbook presets for SMB-scanning to another PCs running Windows work well even the preset to virtual Windows running on this MAC PC.
Will you help me somebody ?
This MAC PC is not mine, but one of my customer.

    Thank you very much.

Depends what version you're running if you can SMB scan to Mac.
        Hope that helps !

In short, it depends on what version of OSX your customer is running because SMB is a Microsoft protocol and Apple runs its own implementation of it. Not only that, it seems that the SMB implentation changes between major OSX revisions.

Someone once posted a true SMB emulator to provide authentic SMB shares in a Mac environment. I've personally never tried it.

Do Yourself a BIG FAVOR and get the customer to buy PinPoint Scan HyPAS app to install on the MFP!

Business Applications - KYOCERA Document Solutions America

It takes ALOT of guesswork out of the scanning process, and is VERY flexible!...scan to e-mail program, scan to folder, even scanned to mapped network drives on client's computers! Secure...requires user chosen PIN number for linking and secure scanning!

The ONLY problem I have found is when the client is using AVG Antivirus (shit software BTW!) and you try to do a scan to e-mail function, AVG sees the automatic invoking of the e-mail program by the HyPAS software as a THREAT and stomps & ruins the install of PinPoint scan, which requires a re-install on the client's computer. Just make sure if they are using AVG that you MAKE AN EXCEPTION for the Kyocera PinPoint scan software!

BTW, the selling of the PinPoint Scan software with the MFP should be a "NO BRAINER"!!!--and included in the price of the machine!!!...shoot your salesman if he/she didn't mention the benefits to the customer!

The reason that I am stating this is that Kyocera's software is DESIGNED to link up, run as a system service and transfer files properly! When you use scan to SMB, you are beholden to the whims of the OS manufacturer...case in point...Microsoft did a KB update (can't remember which one it was) which changed the SMB port from 139 to 445. Using the DEDICATED Kyocera HyPAS software, you are guaranteed a link up between the MFP and the computer!....works on Mac & PC!

I made all settings that way what is decribed in linked document, maybe except one thing: "Windows Sharing On"
Does "File Sharing ON" automaticaly mean that Windows Sharing is ON as well, or is there any other special setting in MAC OS which enable Windows Sharing ?

Turning on the windows sharing should make it work better. Also, SMB/CIFS can use either port 139 or 445 which on the user scan info in the address book, you should be able to change the port.

                Good Luck!

PS--If you can remote into the Mac with Teamviewer, you can test the scan connection in the address book inside the browser--Safari or Firefox should work!

PPS--make sure the IP address for the Mac is static and use it in the path! Also, if the establishment has a file server on a PC (I personally like Windows 7!), sometimes it is easier to make a single share folder and then subfolders for users!--that way, you have ease and consistency of set-up!...then all you have to do is map the folders to individuals computers!

                        Great thanks to all.

Scanning to MAC folder works al last !
Enable File Sharing was incomplete I had to extra enable sharing for Windows.
