Can someone explain Kyocera warranty ?

I am under the impression that Kyocera warranties their copiers and printers for a certain amount of time and their drums, developers and fusers for the maintenance cycle. I have a 3010i that needs a fuser but it only has around 300K on it. I didn't sell them the machine but have been servicing it for almost 2 years and since my contracts don't cover maintenance kits how do I avoid a huge argument with this customer since the fusers are almost as much as the maintenance kits. I don't know if they are aware of the maintenance cycle or that Kyocera warrants the kits to go the expected life. Anyone sell the upper and lower fusers rollers?

Before you can make warranty submissions, you'll need the dealer which currently has the warranty to transfer it over you your Kyocera dealership.

How will you know which dealer has the warranty now? I don't know that.
Does this dealer have to transfer the warranty to you? No.
If you're not a Kyocera dealer, or have no one trained on this model ... no it isn 't going to happen.

    Was that helpful? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I have been in this situation before. The first question is are you a Kyocera dealer? Do you have someone trained on this model? If BOTH answers are yes, then look at tech bulletin 1 for the model to see what is covered under the warranty. If it is still under warranty, call Kyocera and get the warranty transferred to you. If you are the only company working on the machine they will transfer it to you. Kyocera has a great warrantee. But everything has to be done correctly.

Blackcat's and Tonerkiller's comments are dead on! If you are a Kyo Dealer and are trained on the equipment getting a warranty replacement is not hard. If you undercut the selling dealer's maintenance program by not including in the maintenance kits, then the oenus is on you and you have to suck it up and replace the fuser. Sonetimes you win sometimes you loose!

I am considered a small dealer that can only purchase lower end machines and parts from a distributor. I have a dealer number and can call tech support on some models, and I have access to KDA Connect.

If you log in to the kda site, select warranty registration from the options on the left. It will send you to ordering site, click "returns" then Request return authorization. Under the "parts" option select "warranty." Enter the machine serial number, it will let you know that another dealer has the warranty, click the warranty transfer request button. It will send the request to the originating dealer who then needs to authorize the switch. It also provides contact person and phone number for that dealer so you can follow up and press them into action. once you have the warranty under your company, you can then see when the warranty is up. You'll need a full set of U000 reports, a U89 sample set (if pq is issue) and serial numbers of both new and used component (and a corresponding invoice from Kyocera).

Good luck, you're gonna need it!

also when these machines are at the maintenance cycle if you do not replace and register/warranty the kit any and all items past this meter will not be warranted....ask me how I know.
Plus these machines really do run better with less headaches if you just install the maintenance kits at their scheduled time.
