    BF710 Booklet Folder

Im getting a Jam00 as soon as I insert the BF710 into the finisher. Checked switches in maintainence mode and none are activated nor can I manually activate them. I visually checked the switches and none have broken actuators or are unseated. Where do I start?

    Thanks

Have you looked up the jam location for Jam00? What switch does it point to.

If this was a real, valid paper jam condition it would be Jam91, Jam92, Jam93, Jam94, or Jam95. These are the only valid jam codes for the booklet folder. More likely you've got some kind of a short circuit in the BF-710 that is disabling the copier. It's probably in the harnass or a problem with the BF controller.

To diagnose this condition I would disconnect all the connectors in the booklet folder except the booklet folder controller. If the jam condition remains unchanged it's probably in the harnass or controller (that's all that's left connected). If it changes to something else, now you've got you're work cut out for you. One at a time reconnect components until your problem returns.

Of course, the booklet folder must be pulled out before any connectors are pulled or connected.

    Good luck =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I would also try a 906 before getting in too deep.

Thanks guys. It was the Centerfold paper entry sensor (CPES), which even better was the first switch I got to.
