Is a DF-790 from an Alphard series (00) interchangeable with Alphard II (01) series?

Just verified, DF-790 790(B) and 790(C) are compatible with Alphard and Alphard II models. AK is different however.

The connections are totally different for those two series, so no they are not.

I appreciate your opinion, I verified with my regional tech rep. I assure you they are compatible. With the correct AK, connectors line up. No offense but you're off base.

Well the Alphard II series currently has a DF-770 on it and client wants to upgrade finishers. The Alphard II has an AK-731 on it. We have a DF-790 from an Alphard with an AK-730; so, from what I am reading and understand.. is in order for me to attach the DF-790, I will have to swap out the AK-731 currently on the Alphard II and install the AK-730 kit from the Alphard in order for the DF-790 to connect to the Alphard II. Is that correct?

It was past my usable time last night, the AK is different because the machine interface is different. It allows the finisher's plug to connect properly. This sounds more confusing than it is. The machines are different but the AKs allow for the finisher to mate properly to either. Sheesh tough start.

In conclusion, no you wont have to switch AK.

The AK's are a different shape since the Alphard I is rounded & the Alphard II is square on the front.
The attachment kit would need to stay on their respective machines, but the bracket that attaches the
finisher to the machine, would need to stay with the correct finisher.
I attached a DF-790 to a 5501i & it worked.

Correct, the brackets come with the finisher, therefore, it should go with the finisher. Thank you for clarifying.
