If you're talking about the firmware DIMM the serial # is not there. The only thing you need to watch for is having a compatible level of firmware. The simplest way to accomplish this is to flash it on the first power up. Otherwise you may get a CFB30 error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You will need to contact your Tech Rep from Kyocera to get the code for rewriting the serial number. It is stored somewhere on a small pcb burried in the machine, and the special code recalls it and reprograms the e-eprom. They don't like to give that info out, but they will do it for you. The meters need to be re-enterd manually.

Thats not the code you need. You need to contact your Rep.. or the hotline. Besides, because of forums like this, the 3036 code has been eliminated on all the newer machines and removed/changed with firmware on existing machines.
