    Kyocera cartridge in UTAX LP3135

    Hi!
I have a nice UTAX LP3135, better known as Kyocera FS1320D, for which I mistakenly bought a Kyocera compatible cartridge (TK-170)...
The printer is Italian, and the cartridge has a 170 EU chip on it.
The problem arises as I turn the printer on, it starts regularly but after a little time probably checking things, it displays the error "The installed toner container's regional specification does not match the printer's."
Is there a way to use the Kyocera ink in this Utax printer? Maybe some hidden menu or option... Mechanically speaking, it seems to be alright, it snaps in fairly easily and doesn't seem to have gear issues...

    Thanks!

Just for completeness, I have tried entering the toner install mode, pressing the cancel or go button at startup but nothing will prevent the machine entering the error status soon after powering on.

It may be possible to change the destination of the printer, that is, to make the printer think that it's a Kyocera, not a Utax. You can on the MFP's, but I'm not sure about the printers. Additionally, I don't know if it will affect the recognition of the photoconductor chip.

I was not able to discover how to change the country of destination, though I assume that it's possible. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hi, a little update... I tried buying another compatible cartridge, which compatibility is given as assured (I even called the supplier) for my UTAX, but as I installed it, the monster gave me again the 2 led error, indicating the country issue. I'm starting to think that there must be something else wrong with the printer...

Can you help me? The less that light up are just "Toner" and "Attention", bright orange, still, not flashing. As you can read in the Kyocera FS-1320D manual, the problem is the incongruence between cartridge and printer country codes (?).

        Thank you!!

I found that if I remove phisically the RFID chip from the cartridge, it works flawlessly, but without showing the toner level (which is a bit annoying...)
