    M3540IDN FIRMWARE AND PAPERcut PROBLEM

Is there any gotchas that I need to be aware of when installing firmware on a machine with papercut embedded...
My fear is that I install the firmware and demolish the machine...
I am installing firmware because this machine will not hold any addresses in the addressbook after its rebooted...
I am going to check with kyocera to see what firmware to use...

there are other issues with the machine and papercut...
    1. it prints to separation pages but I believe that is an issue with the separation page needing to be edited... its a windows 8 windows server issue...
    2. some time papercut authentication does not recognize the login right away... I believe the firmware should fix that but if it does not then its something papercut is working on...

any help you can send will be much appreciated...

I ran into this on an M3540 without PaperCut. I realized that the non-optional fax PWB had been removed by a previous tech to solve a fax related C code (lazy). Once I had a replacement, I had to flash firmware and run U021 and the address book returned to normal function.

Sorry, I can't be of much help regarding PaperCut.

I've never had a problem with it on other models.
      Hope that helps !

Re: M3540IDN FIRMWARE AND PAPERcut PROBLEM

We have a few accounts that use Kyocera MFP's with PaperCut and I've never heard of any problems caused by firmware upgrades and we're pretty consistent about keeping firmware updated.

installing the latest firmware on the machine... it did not crash papercut...

then we edited the separator page file..
