    Kyocera Km4050 copier

    Dear Friends

    Greetings for the day!!!

I am having Jamming problem J18 at Vertical Conveying paper section before registration with a creeking noise in the machine. I have replaced new Middle feed unit but still paper gets jammed at the same place both from Paper cassette and Bypass tray. i have opened drive motor and checked drive section gears which are not broken. Also cleaned Registration clutch with Isoprophyl alcohol.

Any suggestion to resolve this jamming issue.

    Thanks
    A Alphonsus

      Re: Kyocera Km4050 copier

I have three possibilities for you:

      1) Misfeeds (J10 J18), from tray #1. Not sure how enduser broke middle feed unit drive pack. Plastic gear housing snapped in half, outer part removed. Maybe broken transfer bushing allowed transfer roller to drop, then get slammed in the door hinge. Replace middle feed unit (302GR93150). If broken, replace transfer assy.

      2) Misfeeds (Jam J18) from trays #1, #2, and #3. Misfeeds (Jam J14) from MPT. Jams every time from all sources. Harness wire broken to pre-registration clutch FCL1. It's hard to explain the occurrence at 507K prints & six years service. Repair/solder broken wire in harness inside the middle feed unit.

      3) Loud gear noise whenever the motor runs. Misfeeds J18. Pre-registration drive coupler has broken endstop. Coupler drives past it's stop, disengaging drive, and chewing on the duplex connector. As temporary fix limit the travel of the drive coupler, using large paper clip. Replace vertical path assembly (302GR93160).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
