    Trace 2551ci

    Hello
we have a 2551ci which, at each power-up, makes traces at the back of the first sheet.

In fact, the machine makes traces after each calibration.

the solution is to change the transfer belt, but it does not generate the expected number of copies.
Do you have an alternative to changing the transfer belt?
    thank you
    Pascal.

Do you have a photo or scan of this trace?

I'm going to make some preliminary presumptions:
Firstly, I'm going to guess that the traces you describe are faint representations of the color density and registration patches.
Secondly, I'm going to guess that you're using generic toner.

If these presumptions are correct, the primary transfer belt is unable to properly clean off the residual toner from the color patches. The left over toner transfers to the secondary transfer roller, then transfers by mechanical contact to the back of the paper.

First I would change over to OEM toner. If it's possible to do this in stages, come back in a month. You may not have to change the developing units if the generic toner depletes evenly/completely, or you may have to change the developing units. In the same way once the generic toner is out of the system, you may be able to clean and re-prime the transfer belt cleaner blade, or you may have to change the primary transfer belt assy.

Ideally I would try to do this in two stages about a month apart: First change over to OEM toner. Once the OEM toner has circulated throughout the system for a while then you can evaluate what needs to be replaced next. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Thank you for your reply.
Effectively the cleaning of the transfer belt deteriorates prematurely, despite the use of the original toner.
the phenomenon occurs over the majority of 2551ci and 2550ci.
the traces are more or less visible.
the only solution we have is the replacement of the strap, but it does not make its copy number.

Your Pipe Transfer Cleaning assy is probably broken (2k094042) . There are a few bulletins about it. It's a bit of work at first, and you'll probably need to replace your transfer unit again. (maybe your TR-8315B too in extreme cases)

What happens is that a gear in the Pipe cleaning assy breaks, which causes a build up in toner in the transfer cleaning unit. So after a while your transfer cleaning is full of toner, which gives marks on the rear of paper.

It's a mandatory replacement now in some countries.

Keep an eye on this, you will likely still need the pipe cleaning assembly mentioned on several posts earlier.
If you phrase your inquiry properly, you will get the answers you seek...

Good Luck ... You'll need it! HAHAHA!
