ECOSYS P6035cdn with recurring CFFFF errors.

    Hello all,

Working with an ECOSYS P6035cdn printer, it is one of a fleet of 5 like machines at this particular office. 2-3 times a week for the last 2 weeks, between 8 & 8:45 this particular machine throws a CFFFF error and requires a restart. There is only one mention of this in any documentation that I can find and that pertains specifically to a failed firmware update (during firmware update) which this is not that. I haven't been able to ascertain if there is something specific that is being run, however, this does not occur on other same-model equipment in this office. I'm really just fishing to see if anyone has run across this issue.

I ran the emergency firmware update procedure as prescribed by the manual, everything is latest and greatest.

Thanks in advance, hopefully I've phrased this properly to avoid the obligatory "ask the right question" guff!

Have not seen this specific problem, but since you say that the firmware is up to date and the problem occurs at a fairly specific time, is the time set in the printer within five minutes of the network time? I am reaching a little here but we did have a unit a while back that did strange things only to discover that it's clock was out of sync with the network. On a Windows server network [from Winserver 2008 0n] the devices time must be within five minutes of the network time otherwise it can cause a problem and get blocked by the network. Just wondering if this may not be the case as it seems that your problem is happening at a specific time frame. It may be a long shot but at least worth a check.

Maybe it would be a good idea to hook up the power quality analyzer just to see what the power is doing at the moment of the error? Sure this machine doesn't draw much current, but that doesn't exclude power issues. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you guys for your suggestions, I have been working with Kyo support on this and I have an idea whats happening. I will report back on this once the engineers respond/verify my findings (I don't want to pass on false information if I'm incorrect).

***on a side note, its kind of cool to have stumped the forum!

I've got a 356ci doing similar things. It will throw F245 F246 F26F F248 F241 F4D2 F46F. Customer usually has to unplug and plug in the machine almost every morning. I was suspecting a bad print job sent towards the end of the day, but it randomly threw a F245 code while I was there, and no one printed to it. Went through all the suggested items in the service manual. Memory test, reformat HDD, initialize memory, and i'm up to the step where you replace the main PWB. Customer has also complained that scan to folder items have the incorrect time/date, so I will be checking into the date time thing that was suggested by Santander.

It your case, it looks like you need the latest firmware on the machine. Mine I am working on a P7040. I am also getting fuser codes. I have a fuser on order. I will update when I put it in.

I also have the same model giving CFFFF . after looking on kfs i saw it always had a c 6610 fuser error. i am going to replace the fuer and hope it takes care of the CFFF.

That is consistent with what we saw as well, the concurrent fuser code. We found that it has to do with the fuser pressure motor malfunctioning. Replace fuser and problems cleared up. I don't have the QA number to reference, but there is a document on Astea Alliance page.
