So I replaced belt drive, ans couple..I dont see anything obvious, machine does the clicking noise. I've it before on the KM 8580, I think, ut this is different set up.Heck, what am I missing...? at first , I thought it was a spring clutch, but not the case , here..please any help appreciated !..

Is it the right drive coupler? The only difference between the Falcon I/II toner and the Falcon III toner is a change in drive coupler. Other than the nomenclature they are indistinguishable. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Have you run SIM 130 to adjust the toner level in the developer? If you have done this you may have a bad toner sensor in the DV unit which is not detecting the toner level. this is would be where I would start.

Hello, 5050i was a unit created for Ikon and it had it's own special toner. A standard TK-717 will not work in it. The toner was only available through Ikon dealers. You can change the toner drive coupler and it will then run the standard toner and set the model destination to 2 for Kyocera or 66 for Copystar and you should be fine.

What everybody said ..mismatch between the drive coupler and cartridge , you need the correct cartridge... The clicking sound is a dead giveaway...

          Cheers..

                Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for all the help!!..as I mentioned, I did replace the drive belt and coupler gear, went back today with another(different) toner TK-717,I matched up the old coupler gear, just to see...when I arrived, I did go into service mode and change destination to "2" as advised, once I did that, copier is FIXED !!..Once again thanks !!
now customer can just continue to use TK-717, which they had just purchased 2 new "oem" toners..so they are also happy !
just wanted everyone to know the results...now I'm the hero in the eyes of the customer, only down side, I was hoping to sell them a re-rufurbed kyocera 3010I....
