security error when scanning

customer is scanning packets and when the machines, (there are three 4550ci 3550ci 4551ci), get to a copied check the machine says security error turn off and on. same thing all three machines. I know these boxes have security features for currency. but any help would be appreciated.

try having them ENLARGE the copies of the checks.
you are correct there is a safety feature that prevents copying money.. but that also includes checks and bonds

turns out that it was a high security check. copies fine. wont scan to smb. but they are going to try a few workarounds I suggested.

I've found that covering the multiple orange-looking squares with a post-it note works as a temporary fix.

What tmaged said...Most likely color is the default for scanning..

This is a common issue..
