Is it a sharp cutoff or is it somewhat inconsistent. Also is it tray specific? what about large sizes, does it print a specific sized area on 11x17? These answers may provide the necessary data to help figure this out.

I'm thinking that you did not run simulation U130, so the developing unit is filling verrrrry slllooooowwwly with the monocomponent toner. There is a simulation sheet in that maintenance kit that would have told you to do this.
Just a hint: If you want an opinion on a quality issue, maybe you should include an image? =^..^=
