kyocera 6030 - there is no option to duplex ?

Customer asked me to look at an old Kyocera 6030 while I was working on their new Canon. They said it stopped duplexing. Sure enough there was no duplex option anywhere to be found. Is that because it needs maintenance or an error locked it out? I'm not familer with this model but I told them I would come back and try n fix.Anyone know what this could be.?

Duplex is part of the machine. It won't work without it.
When you open the main door it will be the tray below the one with the turn handle.

Try to go to service mode and do 906 reset

Sent from portable device using fast cheapset!
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

I'm sorry, I meant there is no option on control panel for it.Thanks for answering. Is 906 a factory restore?

It is more like trouble reset.

If there is malfunctioning certain part of machine and the machine can go without it, it will disable it, so you can carry on using the machine. If it would be a vital part ..fuser or developer etc..then machine would throw a C code.

Function disabled are usually ADF or Scanner or Paper trays or duplex or staple or punch function.

just bear in mind that there is possibly a issue with Duplex unit!

The single most common issue with that duplexer is jamming caused by excessive wear on the duplex switchback roller (J60, J61, J62, J63). Let's see if I can find a thread:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
