[Misc] FS 4300 Developer not installed

    IMG_1472.jpgIMG_1473.jpgIMG_1470.jpgHi guys,
Pulled drum/dev unit out to clean charge roller. Put back in and says developer unit not installed. pulled it out again and found this contact spring in bottom on left side. Anyone know where it goes and possible send me a picture of how its in there? Both service and parts manual dot show it and tech support not much help at this time.

    Thanks

I suspect you'll find a home for it on the bottom of the drum unit, possibly developer bias. Sorry I don't have a machine handy to take a picture of. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for a picture that shows where t goes. not that is in place I still get DEVELOPER UNIT IS NOT INSTALLED. Thinking will put new drum and dev unit in it next. any other ideas befor I order this stuff? We don't have another unit to try stuff in and I don't see a reset such as 906 version in unit.

Check the pins on the connector where the developer connects to the drum on the left side of the drum. This is not the connector that you plug into the board, but there is a connector that the developer makes connection with on the drum as it is pushed in place. It has a black cover over it that pushes down as the developer is installed in the drum unit. We have seen these pins bent and distorted and cause all kinds of different messages on the printer.

That contact may have shorted something out on it's travels. =^..^=
