    8002i Jam 6510

Have 3 of these copiers same location running what they call pre bills which consists of 150 t0 300
jobs 2or3 pages stapled in left hand comer running long edge 8 1/2x 11. This the only time this machine jams and it dogear
the paper on front side of the finisher on all of them at no set time. I have change the sensors and exit motor
on one of them and problem not fix, it does not jam except doing this job. they had a 8000i and 8030
and never had this problem with them. machine has 140000 copies on it. Run 241 and 240 mode and all find
    any suggestions.

It is highly unlikely that you would have three machines with the same mechanical problem. Try running the job without stapling, does the jam still occur? Try running the job on the short edge with stapling and see if it still occurs. I suspect that what you are experiencing is a paper curl that the staple head is catching as it moves across to staple the sheets causing the dog ears and the jams. Have seen this before right after the customer switched paper. You could take a ream of a known good paper and run the job as normal and see if it jams, if it runs fine good luck in trying to convince the user the paper they bought is the problem.

Everything you suggested I have tried and works fine except the taking of a ream of paper, the new ream
still jams, I saw a bulletin on Kyocera website about a adjustment for the 8000i finisher but don't
know if it applies to the 8002i, also firmware is up to date and I am looking at playing with the
fuser temp but really don't want to go that route.

I still don't have a resolution for it. I thought it was odd that I'm the only one having the same issue. It's 6510 on 4,000 sheet finisher & 6511 on the 1,000 sheet finisher which I am using on mine.
        Hope that helps !

Regional tech came down yesterday and saw what it was doing
and had no answer . Said he would let me know if and when
          there a solution for this.

I've had one with intermittent J-6510. But, the symptom I was dealing with, was that the copies were crashing into each other. Meaning, page 1 exited but before it had a chance to settle in the staple tray page 2 crashed into it. The problem was that Paddle A was already worn, not catching page 1 hanging up a bit. It was also on a machine with less than 400k. Check it out and make sure he paddles are squared at the ends not slightly curved/worn. Good Luck

                  What solved this problem?

                  We have a 5052ci with a DF-7110 doing intermittent Jam 6510.

                      It’s the same finishers.

As far as I know it’s never been resolved by Kyocera.
                      Hope that helps !

                        Re: 8002i Jam 6510

we have found a few things that will give this finisher intermittent J6510 and J6310 jams. The first fix, is to replace the exit clutch. There is only one visible clutch and a two minute replacement time. (once you have removed the rear cover). The other is a 3 hour procedure, if done for the first time. It involves replacing two actuators that are used only when stapling., because that involves a different paper path. These two actuators are triangle shaped and with 1 million plus copies stapled, there is excess wear off the top of the actuators. (looks like wear and tear and decapitating the plastic off the actuators). The third fix, is actually from a TA-8000i bulletin for J6510,... this is a matter of loosening a screw and moving a plate to prevent paper pinch. Even though the 8000i uses a differant finisher, that section is the same as the DF-7110.
So at least three reasons (probably more) for the intermittent J6510 and J6310 jams.
                        Hope this helps.

I have preformed all of these fixes with success. And I have also seen the exit assy, that goes up and down, be out of syn by one tooth.

Has anyone tried this bulletin for jam 6510 on a DF-7110?

It is recommended for the DF-791 but the design looks to be identical
