    CS4052ci Dual Scan Error

    Says cannot two side scan due to a failure. Saw a similar post here so I formatted hdd and reseated connectors.

    Event occurs with code C3210.
    906 will reset but returns every couple weeks.

    CIS not sold as a unit so I'm guessing at cis lamp,cis board and adf board.

    Any experience on this problem is appreciated

      The Saturn series used quite a few CIS units. Initially the little 30mm CIS cooling fan would stall, allowing the CIS to overheat. I have no idea if any of this applies to your machine. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Make sure the CIS white roller is clean and upgrade the firmware

              Remove the platen glass, clean the mirrors, lamp, lamp reflector and underside of the scanner and platen glass. The light from the lamp is faded because all or some of these are hazy or dirty.

                  Thanks all. I'm going back with cis sensor, cis board. Will clean thoroughly, although machine only 29k.
                  I'll see if firmware released but current as of 2 weeks ago

                      OK. Correction. Had a brain fart and confused CIS with CCD. Luther has the right idea. Clean the CIS scanner glass, white roller(very clean) and update firmware.

                          Had the exact same problem , every 2-3 weeks coded ....Did the usual , Firmware , reseating connections, cleaning etc, no joy. Wound up replacing the doc feeder CIS and it's PCB (PWB SHD) , six months, no call backs.

                              That's good, as I replaced those today. CIS board held on by bullsh**t push pins. Darn near cracked the board getting it free.

                                  Yep, the pins were a PITA..thanks for bringing back pleasant memories.

                                  Just curious, when did it start coding , ours started shortly after installation.

                                      Yea, within the first 10k at least. We've only had 3 codes but I knew it was time for parts.

                                          Not sure if you fixed this issue but we had the same issue and are fix was the CISC lamp sensor. Been trouble free since.
