    SMB scanning

Is anyone else having trouble scanning smb from a Ta 306ci? Two different locations, different operating systems, replace a machine that is scanning just fine with a new 306ci and the scanning won't work. One place still has a 3050ci with all the same settings that works just fine, put the same setup on the 306, no love. Both 306ci's have the latest firmware and "Use Temporary File Name" turned on. Any help would be great. TIA

look at the past threads ....

do these machine have SMB1 or SMB2 ( my guess SMB1) you never mentioned WHAT OS the PC's are using ( win10 doesn't support SMB1)

check the website to see if there is a firmware upgrade for SMB2 scanning

The computers are running win 7 and win 10. On the windows 10 machines, SMB 1 is turned on.

SMB1 is very problematic. look for firmware for SMB2 or 3

SMB1 was disabled in win10 who the hell turned it ON?

you run risk of virus infection and malware... WANNA CRY was the reason SMB1 was turned off.

          Here we go again.

The TA 306ci is SMB V2 capable.

Did you recreate the Address book or did you transfer it from machine to another using mode U917? You can export the one touch and address book to a USB drive, convert it using the Kyocera Setup utility, then import back into the new machine using U917. In this way all of the scan settings including the computer passwords are kept the same. If it worked on the TA 3050i it should work on the new TA 306ci.

only when a curtain update has been done on a win 10 os will the smb1 port be blocked.mine is still open and i have alot of users who is just fine.
i do check up regulary or i just do the special firmware or setup FTP scan.less issues then smb scan

Quick and easy FTP lite by Pablo Software works pretty good. Not as robust as Filezilla, but most user do not need the robustness of Filezilla.

No need to run any other 3rd party FTP software. Microsoft Windows has local FTP and Network client access built into Windows Explorer.

Scan to FTP using a local NAS:
