    Taskalfa 300CI jam 31, firmware

    Interesting symptoms.
When the display is in "ready", there is no jam.
When the display is in sleep mode always jam 31 when printing from the computer (blank sheet folded at the registration rollers).
After removing the first jam the display is ready and there is no more jams.
Never jam on copy mode, as the display is on "ready" to enable copy.
Hytec tech support suggest updating the Firmware.
Anyone can help me with a new Firmware? I'm not a dealer.
    Any other idea?

    Thanks

I had a 3051Ci once that got the Low Voltage PWB replaced and one of the small connectors got overlooked and wasn't plugged in. Turns out that's the connector that supplies wake-up power to the machine. Whenever someone printed from sleep they got a jam. Once cleared everything worked because the machine was awake. Copies worked because you have to wake the machine to get to copy mode.

The 300Ci has a wake signal from the power supply (YC-10 pin 3) going to the engine board (YC-4 pin 13 ). Might be a good place to look.

J31 is a loop sensor jam. The two main instances that you'll see loop sensor jams is:

      1) If the primary transfer belt gets hard to turn, usually because the inner rubber ring peels out and gets entangled in the primary transfer belt drive. The J31 is essentially telling you that the paper never made it past the transfer point. In this case you would replace the primary transfer belt assembly, and do a color calibration.
      2) You can see J31 jams if you have an enduser that prints labels LTR from the paper tray. These labels will get stuck all over everything from the tray #1 pickup to the vertical guides, to the Guide B1 (which is often damaged, doesn't latch properly) even stuck on the registration rollers and primary transfer belt.

      =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Thanks guys for the input.
I'll check the connector on the power supply.
I updated the firmware and it didn't help, the power supply sound like the problem.
