[Error Code] Copystar CS 3511i with F010

Greetings and hope you had a great Thanksgiving,

I have a Copystar CS3511i that is currently down, it is 7 months old.
You turn the machine on, you hear the normal drive noises, the screen goes to welcome, stays on welcome then goes to a black screen with F010 in the middle.
You obviously can NOT get into simulations, talked with tech support (almost useless) and they had me:
    1) replace Hard Drive
    2) Replace Main board

Now they are saying it could be the SSD board that sits on the main board so that is on order.

So I have to things to throw out at you guys.....

    1) Is it possible that the SSD board can cause this or have you ever seen this before?

    2) When I replace this SSD board (which holds the firmware) next week, will this machine boot with no problem since I could not 917 back up any information as the machine was down in error.

    Thanks

    QR 2RH-0009(H210)

66 Corrective measures for system error F010 System error F010 might occur if using a certain application. TO-17-219, FSIM-44, 2RH-10840 MAIN

Always update to the latest available firmware before replacing expensive parts. Firmware is free and in many instances fixes things Kyocera doesn't even acknowledge were wrong. This QR does specifically indicate an F010 failure/fix and so is worth a shot. As I said, it's free.
    good luck

Thanks, the machine would not take a firmware update.
It would start to download then it goes into a "firmware error", it says format SSD

Re: Copystar CS 3511i with F010

The CF010 is Main PWB checksum error. The reference that I have lists possible causes:

communication between op panel and main PWB
        Engine PWB
        Main PWB
        Op Panel

I realize that doesn't narrow it down very much.

I haven't had the privilege of working on this model. Is this one of those modular B&W boxes like the Matsuri? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This is an A3 copier that took the place of the CS3510i, their in between machine of the 30 cpm and 40 cpm CS4002 series. I've sold dozens of these with little to no problems.
If the SSD does not work, Ill have to pull the machine and replace it with a new copier. Customer is down a week already

Have you tried to format the SSD? Turn copier off, open front door, enter 10871087 repeatedly. It should enter maintenance mode. enter 024 and run format SSD. It should work, it can't hurt and as I have always said, Try the Free Stuff First. <g>

Gene, thanks so much for your reply.
On these machines, there are no numbers to enter the codes. You have to click a # button and the key pad will appear in the touch screen. This does not happen because it is in a black screen as shown. Pressing the numbers pad does not work.

The ribbon cable to the op panel is probably loose.

I just got a TA-3212i (very close to the 3511) and tried it. If you leave the door open when you turn on the machine it warns you before it can run its self diagnostics. The touch screen appears and when you press the Numeric Keyboard button it appears and works. You should then be able to enter maintenance mode and run U024 format HDD or SSD.
Try it and let me know how you make out.

                      Gene,
I have tried the front cover & the side main door both open at the same time and it would code out. I didnt try just the front cover though. I am heading back Thursday or Friday with the SSD, before I change it I will try just the front cover open and let you know.

I know they did away with the two dimm boards that were on the CS3510i and now it just has this one SSD board, the main board doesn't even have the little chip to remove like on the CS3510 series.

From what I understand, the firmware is kept on this SSD Tech support didn't even know it had a SSD until I told them (two different support reps)

And this surprises you, how? For the most part they seem to be nothing more than script kiddies reading from prepared notes. I very seldom call them anymore unless I am looking for a good laugh.

                        Good luck with your machine.

Gene, I tried this today and it did not work. When this F010 is set, there is no getting pass this.

Here is the copier Main Control board with the SSD on the top right.

This is the SSD board, this board holds system firmware , theres no more dimms on this machine.

This SSD board was the problem, you will have to have a USB stick with the latest firmware after replacing this board.

When you replace this new SSD board and boot the copier up, it will go into the F010 code again. This is when you turn off copier, insert the USB with the latest firmware and reboot. You will now see the machine go into firmware update but you will only see four lines of information and it will say firmware "recover complete" turn off copier. Here is where you power off the copier but leave the USB stick in and reboot, it now does a complete firmware update like normal.

Turn copier off again & remove stick and reboot. Now you will see the copier get past the "welcome" screen, you will see program loading (you know it is fixed) but then goes into error C0180. I knew I was half way there and didnt want to call the hotline and deal with rookie techs going by the books so I called a friend who is a veteran Kyocera guru Hose1cook, he instructed me to do a simulation 04 "machine number" and execute that. I did and rebooted the copier and it is fixed.

You will lose all IP & address book, I couldn't back it up as the machine was down in error.

Anyways, thanks for the help guys, hope this may help someone somewhere.

Thank you to Hose1cook for taking my call and helping me out.
