Re: TASKalfa 6052ci - code for printing B&W and color
Job Accounting allows you to control usage of the machine. Each account you create allows you to determine if that account is allowed to print and/or copy in color. The code does not determine the output it just allows or rejects the usage. It also keeps track of the number of prints/scans/copies, etc.
example:
User1 is set up to allow full use of B&W and color
User2 is limited to B&W only
When User1 logs in they can make B&W or color copies
When User2 logs in they can only print or copy in B&W.
There are more options to allow or reject usage under the user creation section. -

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: TASKalfa 6052ci - code for printing B&W and color
Are you talking about copying or printing? If it is copying you can install Color Lock where you can default users to BW {Public Access} that is set for just BW and need to enter a code for color. If it is printing then you would need to use Job Accounting to set the PIN numbers, but it would require in your explanation one account for say John Doe with a PIN of XXXX for BW and a duplicate account for John Doe with a PIN of YYYY for color, I do not see what you gain by this as job accounting will report the number of BW prints and the number of prints in color. Do you or your customer think their users are going follow this procedure? I doubt it! We default all print drivers for color copiers/printers to BW and the user has to select color when setting up the print job if they want it and with Job Accounting enabled it will accurately report what is printed in BW and what is printed in color for each user. Since four or five years ago the print driver/machines will even correctly assign pages the proper category automatically. Example: user selects print in color but only one page out of the four contains color, the machine counts three black pages and increments the black count by three, and the color counter by one. If you and your customer are trying to control users behavior by using codes, I think you are barking up the wrong tree.Comment
