kyocera FS 1118 C7980 error

doe's anyone know what error code C7980 and how can I reset on the Kyocera FS-1118MFP?

That error code indicates a waste toner tank overflow. If the bottle is not full then the sensor thinks it is. Clean the sensor and where it should be able to see through the bottle.

C-7980 means that the waste toner resevoir in the process unit is full with less than 100,000 copies on the unit. You can vacuum out the waste toner by removing the panel on the left or right side (can't remember). That should make the code go away.

I only had this once before, and i split the image unit, cleared out the waste toner and stuck a cloth inside the reservoir to clean it out.

Was a messy process, but did the job.

why bother?

if you get c7980 on a km-1500/fs-1018/1118 the process unit has more or less don its turn. it has happened on a couple machines we service, and they've been pretty close to 100000. change the p-u. (or sell them a new machine) check warranty btw.

Most of our 1820s have filled the waste tank around 70,000 prints. It's pretty easy to empty them, and the drums have lasted up to 120,000.
