Kyocera M2030dn prints normally but doesn't copy

    Hi,
I have 3 kyocera M2030dn machines with a very weird problem.
The three of them print very normally without any issues, but when I try to copy a page, the copied paper comes out blank.
I tried to hard reset them using the code 10871087 but nothing happened.
I've faced this problem with a lot of ecosys machines.
Does any one knowa how to fix this issue?

      Check your scanner lock.

does it do this on both the adf and platen glass? i agree with the other post check that scanner lock switch. i have seen it get moved somehow back into the lock position.

can you scan ok? usually if the scanner is locked you get a horrible noise and c-code

The scanner is not locked. It is able to slide to the right and then back to the left, just like it is supposed to do. Had the switch been in the lock position, and it would not have been able to move at all.

Anyways, I tried the adf and the main scanner, and they both rendered a blank page which is strange because when I scan a page to a USB drive, and open it in the computer, the scanned document appears to be black (like totally black).
Normally, if you print a PDF file with a totally black page, the paper would come out with an entirely black page. Which Is the exact opposite of what happened in my case.
I'm starting to think that these machines have some kind of black page detection mechanism that when it detects a black page, it does not print it (maybe to save toner?). But this is just a theory of mine, I don't know. Someone correct me please if I am wrong.

There are a few that, if the lock is locked with the scanner away from home position, will not make any noise it just won't be able to get under the slit glass when using the adf.

havent had much coffee yet but here are a few thoughts. has the machine been turned off and on? if the scanner lock was locked but locking the scanner away from home the white balance may be off. also when you did the 10871087 did you try the 906 reset option if it has it.. try copying a black page with white out on it and see what happens. did you upgrade the firmware? was there power surge or lightning? does the scanner lamp light up? just a couple odd thoughts

If it's not the scanner lock and there's an inconsistency in black vs white scans, I'd replace the inverter pwb and/or the lamp.
