Waste Toner full. Which unit do I need to order, developer or drum?
I know some units you can empty the waste toner but I don't see one on this one.
The drum assembly is where the waste toner is collected. We have had only limited success in vacuuming out the waste toner area and getting more than a month or so out of the unit. We have found it more economical to just replace the drum assembly. Vacuuming out the waste toner dislodges the caked toner in the waste area caused by it being next to the fuser and it getting under the drum wiper. As an emergency solution it will work, but the long term resolution is to replace the drum assembly.
We have actually had a lot of success emptying them, but we don't vacuum the process unit. We open on cap on one side and tap on it with the back of a screwdriver and empty it into a trash bag. Then close that cap and open the other one and tap again. Has worked great for us, but take you time.

I pop off both of the caps and vac. with a little bit of tapping. Run the wire cleaner afterwards and you'll be great! I've done this many times and will get the full life of the drum.
