    Hey Steve
Just looked that up for you. You sure it needs it? Hasn't had firmware update since 2003. The only one for it is the System and the version is 80.06. If you need it let me know and I'll send you a copy.

You're welcome Steve. If I can ever help please let me know. Kyocera is pretty much all I do. I know how it is to get stuck on one. Sometimes just talking to someone will trigger the answer. Have a good week.

Kyocera 1010 1000 printin lat first page fix

this is my fix posted by Composs
A solution has been found. Thank you to Steveauh (Townsville)

Kyocera in their wisdom have used a foam insulator on the 3 solenoids that disintegrates over time regardless of use.
            1. Open the right side of the printer
            2. Disconnect all connections to engine board
            3. Remove engine board
            4. Remove plastic guard (white)
            5. remove all 3 solenoids
            6. Replace all pads on the solenoids that come up against stops
Registration Solenoid has 2 pads (1 against the solenoid frame and the other on a stop arm, the others just the frame pad)
            7. Keep thickness to around .4 - .5mm Too thick on register arm will cause early printing. use felt or thin cardboard
            8. Reassemble
And that is it. The arms were being magnetically delayed due the metallic contact. It seems to be a regular problem in this chassis FS1000 to FS1030.

                Hello,
I've just bough second hand Kyocera Mita FS-1010, firmware version 80.02-94 and I have a HUGE problem. My printer prints RUBBISH!!! I've tried 4 different drivers on two operating systems - Vista 64-bit and 32-bit XP Proffesional but the result is the same. It prints only one row and it looks like that:
!P!QAI09AXIP9!)10101X@PHH HI@ HAIA9 IP) PAIA 1)piqhpipi('ia @P and some symbols like smiled faces and etc.
Although the test page prints perfectly fine!!!! So me guess is that the printer can print but the driver is a mess!!! Or maybe I have to upgrade the firmware.
                Can anyone help me please?

Thank you for your answer at first.
                    1. No, I didn't change anything. Although after I crash into this problem I've tried to change some settings - spooling, PDL, but nothing worked.
                    2. My conection is through LPT1 port, not USB. I thought that this may causing the problem and today or tommorow I'll buy USB cabel to try it.
                    3. I've tried to print from MS Word and WordPad - it's the same story. I'll try from notepad this evening, because I'm at work now.

I forgot to mention that I bough two identical printers - Kyocera Mita FS-1010. I conect the first one through LPT1, install the driver and it worked like a charm. Then I unplug it and plug in the second printer with the same driver, but I run into trouble I thought that maybe something messed up with the driver and run a System restore to clean the system. Then install the driver again, like I did with the first printer. But the problem persists. Then I tried on my other computer which run Vista 64-bit but the same thing happend there. So I'm on a DEAD END street

The only thing I havent tried is with the USB conection - that will be my next step and lets see what happend.

Yes, it still work. But I found the solution It seems that there was something wrong with the cable, because when I conect it through USB - everything is FINE Thanks for the help anyway.
                        Best wishes.

Very interesting on this forum concerning FS1010 and how to solve the problems.
I've this late page problem too, so now I know how to fix it.
Do you have the latest firmware for me? With a procedure to load it into the printer?
Send me a PM with your email and I will send you a mail. It was not able to send you a PM.
                          Thanx.

I know... but I lost already 2x my firmware probably due to static electricity? The 1st time it was within my guarantee period, so no costs, the 2nd time not... It was not that much of money, but still... you have to send it.
So it would be nice to have a 100% good version from it as backup. My version is yet: 80.06-94.
Like the fix for the paper problem, need to find some time for it to take it apart.
