    CS-3550ci Jam 4219

I have a CS-3550ci that is having a strange issue. They called in for 4219 jams when printing envelopes/labels from the MP Tray. While at the call the machine will give a 4219 jams when the media type is set to "Heavy 2 or above" in the original/paper settings. If you set the Label and Envelops to run as Heavy 1 the machine will run great.

I've upgraded the firmware to 12.01 (which addresses a 4109 code for envelopes) but the machine still jams with the 4219 when the media type is set to Heavy 2 or above. Any one ran into an issue like this? Hotline is suggesting PWB's as the next step but wanted to see if anyone else has ran into the issue before I start replacing boards.

Also it will jam from any Tray is the media Type is Heavy 2 or above, so not just the bypass.

We have one in our shop now doing the same thing. Would be very interested in your fix. We even tried back dating firmware.

I have seen this. There are oneways in the AK that need cleaned. When the paperweight is at a lighter setting the paper has enough speed to make it. When it is set to envlopes or very heavy the paper, it moves slow, so it has to be puled and that is when the greasy oneways slip. Pull the ak drive off and the oneways are inside. Be carefull and do it on a table.

You da man tonerkiller! I replaced the one ways and cleaned the shafts up. One of the one way bearing was almost fused to the shaft. Interesting issue, would not have thought it was mechanical from the symptom.
