    [Error Code] KM-C2525E

Getting a C0640 HDD error on this machine.
Problem is finding a replacement HDD 40G
Question is ...Has anyone used a generic one ? If so, what ?
I do have a kyocera 160G HDD. Could this possibly work ?
I am shocked this machine is under a maintenence contract

This Kyocera only holds user data and page data on the HDD. There is no firmware on the HDD, but it must have a HDD to operate. The moment the new drive is installed the MFP will resume functioning. It's still a good idea to format the new drive, and reload the user data in U917 (assuming you have a backup).

There is nothing extraordinary about this HDD. Just Google the brand and specs from your existing dead drive, and you'll find an inexpensive replacement. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
