[Misc] TASKalfa 6053ci with F7100 Internal Finisher

    Hello Fellow Techs
It would seem that someone moved my new 6053ci and may have damaged the finisher by either pushing or pulling the DF7100 exit tray.
Upon arrival and talking to the client I powered the machine to a ready state and started to perform a status page print.
I noted that the finisher tray was in the lower position and when the print job started you could hear a ticking noise and feel a slight vibration on the finisher. (The tray did not move, stayed in lower position)
The machine went into a C8160 code. I removed the finisher to look for any damage but there was none that was obvious.
As there were two machines installed I took the finisher and swapped out. The problem followed the finisher.
Also as part of the C8160 error I noted that the toner covers would open but I expect that has nothing to do with my problem.

Just thought I would check to see if anyone else might have had the same issue.

Much appreciate any and all input.
    Regards
    Ed

Check the upper limit switch arms on the finisher tray, they are probably jammed out of position.

I second the upper (and lower) limit sensors. I replaced both once for odd tray behavior as you describe.

Have had several cases like yours.
After movement from system it stucks in C8160 and technician found deformed/ bent frame tray front or rear.
        Look for partslist DF-7100/ Fig.7/ Main Tray Section/ Item # 13 + 16.
No new part needed, only alignment necessary.

I had one one time that there is an idler wheel that may be loose. It puts tension on the belt that lifts the tray.

              Hello Again
I did visit the customer location and did not find anything looking out of place.
That being said I did print out the parts diagram.
Could someone take a moment and let me know the figure and parts number of the upper limit switch arms.
I did look over the main tray and brackets and they appear fine.
I did do the MM-241 solenoid and motor but C-8160 still appears. I also tried the MM-906 reset but no joy.

              Thanks yet again
              Ed

Turns out that the damaged part was not allowing the finisher tray to move all the way down .
The broken part is white in color Part Number 303RD37170
