I have a problem with a M6530, but the M6030 is the same machine. When it gets to elss than half full in the paper tray it shows paper empty and you have to refill the tray before it will work again. I have checked the paper detect arm for cracks or any damage and cleaned and checked the paper detect sensors, all seem to be working ok. not sure what to check next before strupping it all apart as it doesnt look an easy job to get in there?

On top of the primary feed roller assembly is a little spring it applies downward pressure on the feed assembly. its probably missing, its about the size of a pen spring, if you have a new assembly it comes with the spring attachedComment

Yes but i cant see its a broken gear as it wouldnt work when the paper tray is full of paper as then its heavier. when the tray is over half full it works fine, its only when the tray is nearly empty it fails to load the paper.Comment

Re: Kyocera M6530 paper empty when not
I mostly remember this issue. There are two sensors and when the paper tray lifts it actuates one. It keeps lifting until the paper feed assembly activates the other. The tray will then drop to release tension on the paper feed assembly. That spring is needed.Comment
