    C2610 on KM-8002i

    Alright, here's my theory:

The machine is at "Ready" but won't copy, and it's isolated tray #3 & #4 ("Cannot use tray #3 due to a failure.", "Cannot use tray #4 due to a failure.", C2610 and J2604 at the same time and count).
Each time I find a couple of nasty jams in the vertical path ... two or three pages piled up on each other, just beyond tray #3 pickup.

So my theory is that the enduser never checks the the lower right door. The second and third times paper piles on ... eventually stalling the paper deck main motor.

I just remove the jams, and run U906, and I don't see it again for months. When I ask about removing jams I just get the 1000 mile stare.

What do you think of my theory? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I always bluff them and tell them service mode tells me more than it does. I'd say that I can see the door not being opened from the switch history [emoji16]

I would say the c-code is causing the jams and not the other way around.
I would look at replacing the paper deck pwb and also look at the middle clutch, i have seen the coil on the clutch come out
      and short

A possibility is also the pivot mounts for the separation roller is sticky/sluggish a small drop of light oil fixes this. just my 2 cents worth
And the convey/pinch roller springs on the feed head are something to check. You can see an air gap at the white rollers on some they are so bad, kyocera says stretch them and refit.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll have a few more things to check the next time. =^..^=
