Kyocera FS-C8520 does not wake up from deep sleep

    Hello

kyocera 8520 does not wake up from deep sleep if power button is pushed.
The buttons light up and vents go on but display is still black and at that point the machine is not responding to anything.
Power off and on lets you print until the printer goes to deep sleep again.

Tried firmware upgrade - nothing changed.
Ripped backpanel off and noticed that the big condensers (450V) were swollen. Replaced them - nothing changed.

Any ideas what to try next?

I believe that device has a separate +5vdc standby power supply pwb, which might be defective. either that, or perhaps the big capacitors weren't the only damage to the big LVpsu board... I always swap the whole board when the caps go

We've had similar issues on multiple models, so we started setting the sleep level to "Quick Recovery" and haven't seen it again.

This is the correct solution in 99.999% of the cases. It has been a long standing issue that Kyocera has yet to correct. Their suggestion? Yup, "Quick Recovery".

Well, I believe that this model does not have that option.
When I navigate on printers panel: System - Date/timer -...
There is only sleep timer settings (1-60 minutes), but there is no sleep level settings.

Same thing when logging in through browser. Can not find "sleep level" settings anywhere?? Only "sleep timer".

You have to do from Maintenance mode. I think firmware update also required to activate quick recovery mode.

I have done firmware update to v.11.18.0010_(2017-02-16) this should be latest firmware.

I will look into Maintenance mode... Thank you.

                  Take a look to U346/ Bulletin 2MW-0008 (D230)
Change to "Less energy mode", maybe this can be helpfull for you

Turned on less power mode in maintenance u346.
After that appeared "quick recovery" mode in user menu - enabled it and printer wakes up from sleep now

                    Thank you =)
