    Kyocra 3252ci line on drum

3252ci I installed a new k drum and put all the usual codes into machine got a call a few days later for a black line coming at the edge of the copy I took the k drum out only to fine the coating of the drum on front door side has worn quarter of an inch away. Has anybody come across this fault before ?

    - New or compatible drum?
    - What's the condition of the PCR?
    - Did the drum blade flip?
    - Any foreign objects get inside the drum unit?

Can you post a picture of the drum unit?

Obviously something phisically touched drum, inspect what part is near drum in that line direction. Any worn guide roll/spacer of dev unit?

Hi Billy. Don't seem to be able to upload photos on this form I cant see anything rubbing against the drum it takes app 2/3k pages before it puts a ring around the drum.
Drum blade did not flip and cant see any foreign objects about.
I did change the dev tank as a precaution hoping this would help but no.
This is the second Kyocera 3252ci I seem to be having same problem drums marking up in the same place.

Your photos are probably too big. There are size limitations ~1MB. When I got my new phone I changed the settings so that default resolution was lower..

Is there any reason you attached a 6230 brochure to your post on the 3252ci? Probably just an experiment.

This is one of those cases where only you can make the observations.

Clearly something is touching the drum, and the only way to tell what is to get your eyes in the machine to see what. There are not a lot of things within touching distance of the drum. I think that I'd take a very close look at the primary transfer belt assembly.

Thanks, I wanted to see if the wear line was jagged or uniform. Something is definitely touching the drum. You're gonna have to put on your detective hat and find it before trying to install another drum. Good luck, bro.

I agree. A better picture would help. It almost looks like another wear line forming but it's hard to tell because of the glare.

I don't recommend that. The aluminum core of the drum is exposed and I've seen severe electrical arcing problems when that happens.

The developer spacer is frozen and not turning, replace the developer and the drum

I did replace the dev tank when I replaced the drum as the dev tank was leaking.
