    DP-770 (Document Processer) No Feed

    Thought I'd share this.

I had a DP-770 that wasn't feeding. The pickup roller wouldn't pull the paper far enough in for the primary feed roller to feed the paper thru. The pickup roller has a one-way bearing so I thought it would be a simple fix by replacing the pickup roller. After replacing there was no change.

So, I enter sim. 203 and run the doc. feeder without paper. I notice that the pickup roller would turn sometimes but other times wouldn't move at all. The feed motor worked fine. I had never taken the gear pack off one of these but I figured there must be a gear with a one-way bearing in the gear pack that was slipping. Sure enough i take the gear pack off and replaced gear with one-way bearing and that fixed the problem. Anyone ever run into this?

    hi,
most likely is the black holder defective, the black stopper lever is probably gone.

I've dripped oil into this one-way for a quick fix. I've never had to actually remove it. Nice that you confirmed it for me though.

The misfeed is J9000, and the one-way gear Z27R is 303LL31440.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Removing and re-installing this particular gear pack wasn't that bad. Of course this was my first time and that's always the most difficult. I did it a 2nd time and didn't make any of the same mistakes the first go around.

I'm always hesitant when I dig into a gear pack because back in the day I took one apart on a Sharp and springs and shit started flying thru the air. This was a cake walk compared to that.
