Kyocera TASKalfa 7002i hard drive replacement

Does installing a new hard drive need any programming? Never had to install one on a Kyocera. I am thinking that the firmware is installed on the motherboard and the Hard Drive is used for storage, address book, account codes and during the copy process.

And does it have to be the same brand and size or is there something special about the Seagate 320GM Sata hard drive?

Backup the address book account codes etc... unless it's dead

No address book or account codes installed. Basic copy and print.

Yes you can fit pretty much any HDD, I usually just replace them with the same size, quick format & you're good to go.

Have you ever tried replacing a HDD with a SATA SSD?

Never done it myself, just curious if it works, as in my head it should work, and it could make the copier faster at processing print jobs etc.

In theory it should work but you won't really see any improved print processing speed etc.
