    Color band on Taskalfa 4053

Taskalpha 4053 with color banding. put original on glass copy in letter form or letter R form this is what comes out . When using the ADF(not duel scan ADF) letter comes out with band but letter R does not , with that i am concluding that the rear of the LED is not transmitting a image correctly . it does the same for B/W but of course the banding is not color but like a washed out copy on top and side). Im assuming either LED PWB or CCSD PWB any thoughts on this issue.

is this only on copies or on prints also?

    have you run ACC ?

what are page counts on drums/belt/fuser?

    have you cleaned the machine?

boards aren't ALWAYS the first things to look at and It appears you haven't taken the basic steps to define the problem.

Lets try something easy: Take a look at the DF height. I'm going to guess that the DF matt is not holding the original down to the glass. The DF might be adjusted too high at the left, or the matt is velcro'd on in the wrong position.

Next: you might have a loose mirror, but that's less likely.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I wrote this after a long day day and seems to miss some info. This T/A is a brand new copier with less then 859 copies. Internal prints are fine no issues . I have only seen issues with dirty mirrors, bent frames and cracked spacers on the scanner . i did check the velcro pad and there is a little adjusting with the mirrors ( thinking it got bounced around during transport) . I do not think the CCD or LED is the issue due to the fact its been many years since i have replaced either of them. Not sure what you mean by ACC adjustment but i am going out today seeing if i missed something simple that i over looked . One reason for posting is to find out if there was a service bulletin out for this issue that we did not receive .

I think the ADF matt is not on right. Pull it off, put it on the glass then close the feeder.

It does it with the feeder closed on the original or just making a copy when its open.

I had a Ricoh AF650 several years ago, in which the scanner rail strips (strips of chromed metal ~6mm wide x ~457mm long, stuck on with two sided tape), they slipped toward the inside ... sort of wavy. I've never seen it before or since. It was no small task to remove the top of the scanner, peel back the strips and re-stick them in the correct place.

I had no idea if they would stay in the correct place. Apparently they did, since we continued to service that machine three more years, and it never came up again (the strips or the issue). =^..^=

CCD solved my issue with the banding.

On the 2 series they had an issue with the scan motor belt being to tight and causing this issue. I have not seen it with the 3 series yet but you never know. They say you want to loosen the tension then bring it back so it is naturally stretched. I have done this and yes it fixed my issue. If it does it on the glass too then they say its not this issue. It only should do this through the document feeder.
