We have a 4501i that makes perfect copies. Prints and status pages are very light and washed out. Eco mode actually improves the prints. Any Ideas?

Are you sure your turning off eco mode in the printer settings in system menu. -

This is something wrong with how machine processes images/data. If copies are good you can elimanate 99.99% all hardware parts like high voltage, drum, dev, transfer, even laser. Have you tried printing out any of the Sim 089 samples? I agree that this appears to be a board issue. It looks like your firmware is pretty current too. The Main PWB controls the print data processing, so you might give that a try.Comment
