Kyocera ecosys m3145 specks on copy after new drum & Developer installed

It's been a while since I came here, getting used to the new format. I have a small independent company, just me, and my tool kit. I've sold some Ricoh copiers, but can't get them anymore. Recently sold a few Kyocera Ecosys M3145's. I've got two that went over 100k and I replaced the drum assy. First worked great, but the second is giving me problems.

The original issue was lines in the background. New drum resolved this, but second machine had some ugly spots show up before I got back with the new drum. I installed the new drum, and lines went away, but still getting spots. Replaced developing unit and charged it with a generic toner from Arlington. Now I'm getting tiny specks on the copy, I've ordered a new transfer roller, but I'd love any suggestions you might have. Before pic on the left, after pic on the right, Look close to see the specks.

    Thanks

    Robin

Not familiar with that model but because it's a non-repeating mark I'm going to suggest it's random "generic" toner left over from all the excess toner that caused the blobs on the left hand sheet. Too much of a coincidence that the other copier didn't give you massive blobs before the drum replacement and isn't now giving you the fainter blobs. I would remove the main units and wipe down the entire paper path with a toner magnet cloth with careful attention to any ledges that might be hoarding toner. A few selective squirts of canned air wouldn't hurt either.

Still getting used to the new format. My 'new post' alerts that haven't worked for a couple of years are suddenly working again, lol.

Looks like build up on fuser. should clear up after a few prints. If you are using Generic toner, you will have this issue. You will have to hover out the developer unit and install Kyocera toner to resolve this issue.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Yeah, I was worried you were going to say that. I'm actually the dirtbag who provides them with the generic toner. Used it for the first 100k copies with no issues. I appreciate your input

The old developing unit seemed to have something soiling the mag roller, any advice on cleaning the mag roller?

          Thanks

            I would use Isopropyl alcohol.

IIRC the developer roller is aluminium with a magnet inside. IPA is good but you do not want to leave a film on the roller. IIRC it is a textured roller, I have cleaned them lightly with a Scotch bright pad , but not to the extreme that you polish the surface.
