    SD card for 308ci

    Hi everyone,
I need an SD card to install MyQ app on a taskalfa 308ci. Does anyone knew if I can use a class 10 32gb instead of the Kyocera option wich is more expensive ?
    Thanks for your reply.

We tried a bunch of cheap SD cards that didn’t work. We sent them back and got slightly more expensive ones and they were fine. We have never used kyocera supplied ones.

I buy mine at Walmart. A whole lot cheaper. Same as the ones you get from Kyocera but you can buy about 8 at Walmart for about the same price you can get one from Kyocera. Same card.

      SanDisk
      SDHC card 32GB (4) SanDisk.pdf

      Anywhere from $11 - $14 each.

I will try with a non Kyocera SD card and see. I have tested with a 4Gb at the workshop and it seems to be OK.

SD card is a SD card for the most part. As posted above, the cheap ones die fast because they don't have very good memory. Solid state only has so many writes before a sector dies. Higher end SD cards have higher writes before they have sectors fail. This is important when buying SD cards for dash cams as they are constantly being written too. It would be the same case for a photo copier although i think the SD card is only for hypas apps.

Sharp had a issue on the 3070 machines, any machines below version 4 firmware or below and they never got upgraded eventually smoked their mSATA card because the firmware was constantly writing or updating every second or something. They fixed the firmware and drastically improved the life of the mSATA.

A bigger SD card has more sectors which means it has more to sacrifice before ultimately failing. You just need to make sure the copier can read the card. The older Ricohs could only read "SD" not "SDhc". No idea what standards Kyocera will handle.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
