    FS_C5030N with Error code 953

We have replaced the LED array with a known working one, replaced the drum and deve units, the main and engine board and also the eeprom. It still comes up with the same code. Anyone have a ideas please let me know.

From what I've read, the most likely candidates are:
    1) the LED head on the magenta drum unit,
    2) the Print Heads Relay PCB,
    3) the Engine Controller
    4) the mating connector & harnass.

    It looks like you got 1 & 3. That leaves 2 & 4. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That's all I got. When I run out of ideas I start rechecking the old ones.

Since the LED head remains the most likely, I would try switching the magenta LED head with one of the other ones, to see if I can get the problem to move. If it doesn't move you've completely ruled out the LED head as the source of the problem.

Have you tried flashing the machine? I know that sounds desperate (the kind of advice that you'd get from the hotline).

When do you get the code? Does it complete initialization? If no, how long? =^..^=

Well everything on the list has been replaced and yes we flashed the machine.

I'm not actually the person with the hands on but I think it gets through initialization.

This all came about from a tech searching for a sqeuak. He is very experienced with these. He went working in the right hand side of the machine and it started coming up with this code and it won't quit.

I think the power supply is the only thing left. Even changed the main board.

Just got verification it gets through initialization.

            Resolution

They found a bad ribbon cable on a drum unit other than the magenta.

            Imagine that!

            Thanks for all the help!!

I've followed up on a few problems like that. One was a Sharp AR-507 that was giving motor driver codes. On the ribbon cable only one of the foil contact points had peeled back. Good catch. =^..^=
