    P6130-M6535

    Hi guys,

Has anyone seen an issue with Kyocera P6130, and M6535, where small vertical lines, or dashes, and spots are appearing on the prints, due to a foreign matter is sticking to the drum? The K or black drum is usually the only one affected, however I have seen it on the color drums as well, but not as frequently as the black drum.

I've been cleaning the drum surface with a soft cloth and alcohol, which seems to clear it up for a while, but the issue returns after only a few days.
I've also, in some cases, removed and cleaned the drum cleaning blade.

    I've attached a print sample.

Is there a tech bulletin on this? Any and all suggestions, thoughts, and ideas are completely welcomed.

    Thanks!

Attached is a bulletin on this issue. Replace the black drum only with a DK5140A. Make sure to order the A version for the black slot.

Thanks for responding, however I've ordered the new drum, DK-5140A, for a couple of these printers, but it had no effect on the issue. The issue came back, even with using the new drum.

The only real long term solution is to shorten up sleep mode time ... as short as the customer will allow. Especially with billable customers, I explain that the high internal heat of the MFP fuses toner to the surface of the drum, especially black, since its closest to the fuser. When I can show that the drum can possibly reach yield, I usually get cooperation, like 5minutes to sleep mode. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
