Kyocera Ecosys M3540idn Op panel numbers slow to respond

Has anybody encountered a problem with the Ecosys M3540idn series op panel being slow to respond?
The machine will respond to some of the push button numbers at normal speed for example 1,2,3,4,5 than 6 is slow to respond, than 6 will respond at normal speed. The slow response is random and not always present. The touch screen part of the op panel is working fine with normal response times to the inputs.

Disconnect the network cable and see how it responds. All the instances I've seen of this, someone had created a loop on the network, so it was flooded with traffic.
