    [Misc] Nationwide toner shortage for 5002i machines

    Hi we are pretty much being told OEM toner is out until after April. TK-6327. Kyocera has no solution. We can`t be without toner since we have over 100 of these machines in the field. We have bought as much as we could from Impression Solutions and now we hear they are out. We are at a loss. We have always been strongly against aftermarket toner but we are in dire need whether KMA likes it or not. My question is what best aftermarket toner is proven to work? Which ones are some of you using? I see on Amazon they sell toner in jugs where you can refill your old bottles. Really don`t want to resort to that. We just need something to get us over the short term hump before our state machines start canceling their contracts. I am sure all of you will feel it soon. Is this across the board with other manufactures too? thanks

          Sell Toshiba. They manufacture all toner for the Americas in South Dakota. Even during the worst of COVID, toner supply was never an issue.

              Not tried this but I'd imagine if you took the chip off and swapped the cap over it would still work. The machine would come up complaining non genuine toner but I'm pretty sure it would still work. Toner levels might even reset once the hopper fills. I've tried it on the printers and if you take the chip off and swap the end of the bottle or mod it by changing the pegs I bet it works.

              4002i and 4052 toner I'm sure would be the same and possibly 4053.

                  There's a lot of TK-6327 on EBAY. Genuine Toner. May help buy some time.

                      He said he has over 100 of these machines in the field. How is your suggestion gonna help this man?

                          For many OEMs, toner is manufactured outside of North America and is subject to the impacts of local COVID rules and/or local disasters.

                          Supply chains are often unpredictable and global logistic costs remain at peak levels and delivery times face many challenges.

                          Being overly dependent on one OEM, now matter how much liked, to supply your product is a risky business strategy in 2022.
