    [Misc] Kyocera M2540 connectivity

Customer called said can't scan to folder or print.
Checked all the usual....(Customer IT assisting)
KX driver with IP shows offline.
We can ping the machine ip address
    DNS is correct, and gateway
scan to folder password correct, tried different scan folder.

I connected KFS to update firmware.

We are still researching, and scratching my head...

    Thoughts??? Ideas??

    Thanks

If you acn get to it on KFS, it has network and internet connectivity.
Can you get to the web page ? Pinging only tells you there's something at that IP address, not necessarliy your MFP.
Run a continuous ping and disconnect the cord.
Set it to DHCP and see if you can print to it. Keep isolating and eliminating items.
What error are you getting when scanning ?
See the thread about NIC speed.
    Hope that helps !

Looks to me that there are more than one machine using the same IP.

      Good luck

Did you print out a status page and verify that the current IP address of the machine is the same as what the print driver is using? We never setup a print driver to use the IP address, but use the hostname, that way if the machine's IP changes you can still print as the driver is looking for the printer's hostname and not an IP. We setup scanning the same way, using the PC name and not an IP address for the same reason. It sounds to me that the user lost power and when the router came back up it assigned new IP addresses. As stated in other posts pinging an IP address does not verify that it is reaching your machine only that a device is at that IP address.

          Thanks for the replies.

Yes I can reach web page, and ping ip address.
But I'm doing a remote session, and my supervisor pushed it over to our IT division...I would have liked to go on site and test all these ideas. No better way to learn than in front of the machine!!
It's a 2 hour drive from my location to customers.
